Delta Dental
As of January 22, 2025, we will no longer be contracted with Delta Dental
Dear Valued and Loyal Patients,
As of January 22, 2025, our office will no longer be a contracted provider with Delta Dental. Unfortunately, Delta Dental has made it very difficult for participating providers to continue to provide optimum care to its members.
I strive to maintain a practice where you receive the best care year after year with adequate time set aside for YOU and your dental needs and concerns. I am unwilling to compromise on the quality of care, skilled team members, local laboratories or materials because Delta Dental is unwilling to provide adequate coverage for its members. For these reasons I am not contracted to any other insurance companies and I am ending my contract with Delta Dental. My contract, relationship and concerns are with you, my patient.
What does this mean for you?
- Yes! We still accept Delta Dental and you can still use your benefits at our office.
- Yes! You will still have your maximum benefits at our office. Most Delta Dental plans have out of network benefits that do not change no matter who you see.
- Yes! We will continue to file your claims for you as a courtesy just like before. The only difference is that Delta Dental will now mail you a check.
- NO! We do not want you to go elsewhere, you are a valued member of our patient family.
What will change?
- Delta Dental will likely send you a letter informing you that we are now an "out of network provider". This letter is to encourage you to seek an in-network provider, because that is what is most profitable for Delta Dental.
- A change in the level of coverage is possible but in most cases is unlikely as we are a specialty office and Delta Dental follows the premier fee schedule which if your card says premier you have out of network coverage.
- Lastly Delta Dental will send you a check for your dental visit rather than send a check to our office. This is to make it more difficult for you to seek care at a provider of your choice. Which in turn is more profitable for Delta Dental. We will collect payment the day of service from you, and Delta Dental will send you a check in return.
We are making this change to safeguard the quality, care and customer service that you have come accustomed to at our office.
Thank you,
Dr. Thomas Hoover DDS
